Home Is a Wall

Sadam Abdullahi

Home is not just a place.
Home is where you feel at home.
Where you want to stay.

Home is not just a country.
Home is a wall, a proud symbol.
A wall that protects me, from everything.

Home is not just a word.
Home is a bond that never breaks.
A hand that never lets go of me.

Sadam Abdullahi (19)

comes from Ethiopia and now lives in a shipping-container camp on the Tempelhofer Feld. Much is new for him in Germany. By contrast he associates safety with his home and his family.
