What is identity?

Do I ask myself with curiosity,

to find out where I come from.

I am from here – did I assume.

 

If that is the case, 

Then, why is everyone asking me, 

where do I actually come from?

 

My own family claims I was German. 

And yet others in Berlin say, I was Afghan.

 

Whether from here or from there,

It is certain, 

I will not leave this place anywhere.
