Where Boundaries End

Lea-Marie Stampehl

Rathenow, Germany

Boundaries.
Personal, geographical, moral.
How close do I let someone get to me?
How close to my secrets,
my soul,
my body?

Where boundaries end,
freedom often begins.
But some boundaries should not be crossed,
even in the name of freedom.
Other boundaries open up entirely new worlds.

To live without boundaries from time to time,
not let yourself be repressed by them –
and at the same time to remain true to yourself
is an important ability.
To show personal boundaries to other creatures,
so that they are accepted.
This helps you and your environment
to live together better.
