Bahadin Akhan was born in Muş in northern Kurdistan. Since childhood, he has loved reading, learning, and teaching. Due to the ban on the Kurdish language in Turkey, he was forced to complete his entire school education in Turkish, from elementary school through high school.
After graduating from high school, he heard that departments for Kurdish language and literature had been established in some cities in Kurdistan and decided to continue his education in his own language. He graduated from Mardin Artuklu University with a degree in Kurdish language and literature and completed his master's degree in Kurdish language and culture at the same university.
Due to bans and a lack of opportunities, he was unable to teach in his home country. Therefore, after completing his studies, he worked with many Kurdish institutions, organizations, and publishers in the field of Kurdish language and literature. He was active in the fields of publishing, editing, and journalism.
His poems, stories, and articles have been published in various magazines and newspapers. In 2022, he won the poetry prize in the Arjen Arî competition. His poems have been published in a book. For political reasons, he was forced to leave his country. He has been living in Berlin for three years and teaches Kurdish online while learning German. He is currently improving his qualifications so that he can teach Kurdish in Berlin and would like to continue his studies.
