On September 29, we celebrated our late summer fest at our office – even though the weather outside already felt a bit autumnal. Things warmed up quickly during the “How do we actually work?” workshop over tea, where both familiar and new faces came together to learn about how we work and to write poems together.
Afterwards, there was a reading with seven poets from the project – Shahzamir Hataki, Mariia Kaziun, Bahadȋn Akhan, Ali Alzaeem, Mykhailo Krasilnikov, Maryam Talibi, and Mahnaz Jafari, who presented their texts in both their first language and in German. Afterwards, our founder, Susanne Koelbl, gave a speech in which she looked back on nearly ten years of The Poetry Project e.V.
Then the celebration truly began: with delicious food cooked by Rezwan Samadi, wine and other treats from the buffet, and a campfire in the courtyard. At the raffle, there were many lovely prizes to be won, and poet Mariia Kaziun enchanted us with live jazz singing. There was dancing and laughter late into the evening, until the celebration finally came to a close with everyone gathered around the fire bowl.
Many thanks to everyone who celebrated with us and for all the energetic support!
