Today I feel free
I may speak my native language: Kurdish
I am free, there are no boundaries
Now I can learn everything I want
Because I am in Germany
I used to be in Syria
But I am a Kurdish woman
As a Kurd I may not study there
As a Kurd I may not work or choose my profession
As a Kurd I may not move freely and travel in Syria
I applied for Syrian citizenship
But I did not get Syrian citizenship
Because I am Kurdish
Because I am Kurdish
Many things are not permitted.
