On the occasion of the 76th anniversary of the Basic Law, the Department for "Political Education and Plural Democracy" invited us to an event exploring the Basic Law from an intersectional perspective.

Our poets Maryam Talibi, Shahzamir Hataki, Jawad Jafari, Mohamad Zahra, Jamal Abasi, and Zainab Farahmand presented some of their poems, demonstrating how artistic engagement with themes like freedom, equality, human dignity, and belonging can also provide emotional and intellectual access to the Basic Law: It is not merely a historical or legal document, but a living promise of freedom, equality, and human dignity in an increasingly pluralistic and diverse society.

Thank you for the inspiring exchange. We are delighted to give voice to intersectional perspectives through our Poetry Project and to help make the Basic Law a tangible, multifaceted learning field.
