Behsud | Afghanistan
Abdul Ahmad Pouya was born in 2006 and comes from Behsud in the Maidan Wardak province of Afghanistan. Many Hazaras, who have been persecuted in Afghanistan for over 100 years, live in this region. Since the Taliban took power, the situation has further escalated because the Shiite Hazaras are regarded by them as infidels. In Behsud, hundreds of families have been displaced from their villages; there have been arrests and murders. Abdul came to Germany in 2023 and is currently attending a welcome class. He wants to become a programmer after finishing school. In his free time, he plays volleyball and goes to the gym, and he also enjoys reading books.
