Abdul Ahmad Pouya was born in 2006 and comes from Behsud in the Afghan province of Maidan Wardak. Many Hazara live in the region, who have been persecuted in Afghanistan for over 100 years. Since the Taliban took power, the situation has worsened, as they consider the Shiite Hazara to be infidels. In Behsud, hundreds of families were driven from their villages, and there were arrests and murders. Abdul came to Germany in 2023 and is currently attending a welcome class. He is currently completing his training as an electrical systems installer. In his free time, he plays volleyball and goes to the gym, and he also enjoys reading books.
