Maryam Talibi (2007) is a poet living in Berlin. Born in Kabul, Afghanistan, her voice moves between her origins and the present, between memory and self-creation. Her family roots stretch back to Bamyan, and her view of the world is shaped by the quiet Buddhas of the mountains and the streets of Berlin. She came to Germany at the age of fifteen, between languages and times when words began to renegotiate identity. She has always been fascinated by space and the stars. In her poetry, she negotiates the power of language over identity, multilingualism, and political interactions, writing from a perspective in which female experience is not marginal but a starting point.
