After the presentation of our collaborative text work with the Kollektiv "kaboom" in October 2024 at the “Enter the Ghosts. Formen des Nachlebens in der Lyrik” conference, our sound collage inspired by Elke Erb’s poem “Angekommen in Ahrenshoop” was showcased again. As part of the “Futures of Doing Literature” conference organized by the Freie Universität Berlin’s Temporal Communities Excellence Cluster, attendees and interested visitors could experience the "Among Waves" installation.

At silent green—a fascinating cultural venue in the heart of Berlin Wedding—an inspiring group of outstanding international scholars from various disciplines gathered to discuss the future of literature.

Alongside Carolin Schmidt, a literary scholar and founder of the Berlin-based kaboom collective, The Poetry Project’s founder Susanne Koelbl and our poet Jamal Abasi—who also contributed to the installation—presented the sound collage. Jamal shared how he experienced this sea of voices in the collage, what drives him to write, and read some of his poems.

What the conference showed? This is what literature can be: alive, in ever-new forms, audible, moving, and present.
