I came to you full of pain and sadness.
You wrapped a bandage around my wounds.
Everything that I was and am is distant.
You gave me back my wings.
You gave me a genuine welcome.
You gave me back a lost home,
at the end of a long search for refuge.
Even if I am not of your blood,
perhaps I can be a blessing for you.
